Serial ATA (SATA) is the latest generation of the ATA interface. SATA hard drives deliver blistering transfer speeds of up to 150MB/sec. Serial ATA uses long, thin cables, making it easier to connect your drive and improving the airflow inside your PC.

If you want to move into the world of SATA and migrate your existing ATA components to a serial platform, the SATA150 TX2plus provides an easy upgrade path. The controller is a hybrid solution that combines two independent SATA ports and one Ultra ATA port for support of up to two Serial and two Ultra ATA drives.

With a SATA150 TX2 Plus controller, you also get the benefit of Promise Technology's industry-leading ATA feature set. To assure faster transfers, Promise's ATA software uses sophisticated handling techniques to make data transfers more efficient and minimize overloading the host system CPU and slowing system response. Every Promise controller also supports drive capacities exceeding 137GB. Promise cards can be used on both 33MHz and 66MHz PCI bus motherboards for wider compatibility and improved performance.
